About this Creation
About this Creation
Looking for something elegant, breathable, and deeply rooted in tradition? Our Sambalpuri Pure Cotton Dress Set is more than just fabric—it’s a piece of art, handcrafted with care by skilled artisans of Odisha. Made using the time-honored Bandha (Ikat) weaving technique, where each thread is dyed before weaving, this 3-piece set (kurta fabric, bottom fabric, and dupatta) carries the soul of India’s rich handloom heritage.
Ideal for all seasons, this fabric allows your skin to breathe while keeping you effortlessly stylish. Soft, lightweight, and comfortable, it drapes beautifully without the clingy or synthetic feel.
Handwoven on traditional looms, this fabric is not printed or machine-made, ensuring unmatched quality. Every motif—whether it’s the Shankha (conch), Chakra (wheel), or intricate floral patterns—is woven into the fabric, making it last a lifetime.
Designed for versatility, this fabric allows you to tailor it to your personal style. Whether you prefer a classic straight-cut suit, a chic A-line kurta, or a regal Anarkali, it adapts beautifully to any silhouette.
By choosing this dress set, you are supporting rural artisans and eco-friendly, slow fashion. Each piece takes weeks to weave, and no two are ever exactly alike—a true mark of exclusivity.
Perfect for everyday elegance, cultural celebrations, or as a thoughtful gift, this handcrafted dress set brings tradition and artistry together in every weave.

STORY BEHIND THIS CRAFT
Sambalpuri handloom textiles originate from Western Odisha, particularly from Sambalpur, Bargarh, Sonepur, and Balangir districts. Renowned for its intricate Ikat (Bandha) weaving technique, this craft involves resist-dyeing the threads before weaving, resulting in symmetrical patterns on both sides of the fabric. Unlike printed designs, each motif is carefully woven into the fabric, ensuring durability and authenticity.
The tradition dates back to the 12th century, when the Bhulia weavers migrated to Odisha, bringing the Ikat craft with them. Over centuries, this technique evolved into the distinct Sambalpuri Ikat, featuring motifs like Shankha (conch), Chakra (wheel), and floral patterns, deeply rooted in Odia culture.
Sambalpuri textiles gained national prominence in the 1980s, endorsed by notable figures, including Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. In 2007, this heritage craft received the Geographical Indication (GI) tag, safeguarding its authenticity and supporting traditional weavers.
Today, Sambalpuri Pure Cotton Dress Sets represent more than just fabric—they are a testament to Odisha’s rich textile heritage, blending tradition, craftsmanship, and sustainable fashion.
Care Guide
Care Guide
Dust Gently| Use a soft, dry microfiber cloth or a gentle brush to regularly remove surface dust without scratching the metal.
Avoid Harsh Cleaners| Do not use chemical-based or abrasive cleaners, as they may damage the natural finish and patina of the brass.
Wipe Occasionally| For occasional deeper cleaning, use a slightly damp cloth. Wipe gently and ensure the piece is thoroughly dried afterward.
Do Not Soak| Never immerse Dhokra jewellery in water, as moisture can lead to tarnishing or affect the structure over time.
Keep Away from Moisture| Store and display in a dry indoor space. Excess humidity can accelerate oxidation and dull the brass finish.
Polishing (Optional)| To maintain a bright brass look, gently polish with a soft cloth and a natural brass cleaner. To preserve its antique patina, avoid polishing.
Handle with Care| Though durable, Dhokra pieces are handcrafted and can have delicate elements. Handle with care to avoid bending or breakage.
Store Safely| When not in use, wrap in a soft cloth and store in a dry place away from direct sunlight or extreme temperatures.
