Men's Everyday Handloom Wear: Heritage Fabric for Daily Life
The clothes a man reaches for every day are a different proposition from what he wears to a wedding or a formal occasion. They need to be comfortable across hours of wear, hold up through repeated washing, and suit the range of things a day actually involves. Handwoven fabric, when chosen well for a daily-wear garment, meets all of these requirements and adds something a mass-made garment cannot: a texture, character, and quality that improves with wear rather than diminishing. This collection gathers handloom and craft-fabric garments suited to daily life: beginning with handwoven Sambalpuri cotton shirts, and growing to include kurtas, stoles, and other garment forms in handloom fabrics as the range expands. The standard across all of it is the same: woven by hand, made to be worn regularly, and rooted in a fabric tradition worth keeping alive.
The Fabric and What It Offers
Sambalpuri cotton is woven using the Bandha double ikat technique in the weaving districts of western Odisha (India): Sambalpur, Bargarh, Sonepur, Boudh, and Balangir. In this technique, both warp and weft threads are resist-dyed before weaving, so the motifs are built into the fabric rather than applied to its surface. The Pasapalli (checkerboard) and ikat patterns in this collection are not printed designs: they exist through the fabric, visible identically on both sides, and will not fade or wash out. Sambalpuri cotton is breathable and skin-friendly, suited to India's climate, and improves with regular washing and wear. The colours in this collection: deep coffee, dark forest green, royal blue, deep maroon, are rich and grounded, carrying the character of naturally dyed handloom fabric in colours that work across a range of daily contexts. As the collection grows to include garments in other handloom fabrics including Khadi, the same qualities will be the benchmark: breathable, natural fabric woven by hand, suited for daily wear.

A Few Things Worth Knowing
What garments does this collection include?
This collection includes handwoven men's apparel suited to daily wear. It begins with handwoven Sambalpuri cotton half sleeve shirts featuring Pasapalli and ikat motifs, and will grow to include kurtas, stoles, and other garment forms in handloom fabrics as the range expands. Each product page carries specific fabric, sizing, and garment details.
What makes Sambalpuri cotton different from regular cotton?
Sambalpuri cotton is handwoven on traditional pit looms using the Bandha double ikat technique, where both warp and weft threads are resist-dyed before weaving. The motifs are built into the fabric through this process and are not printed or surface-applied. The resulting fabric has a texture, depth of colour, and structural integrity that mill-woven cotton cannot replicate, and the motifs will not fade or wash out with regular care.
How do I find the right size?
Please refer to the size chart on the individual product page, which carries chest measurements in inches. If you are between sizes or unsure, feel free to reach out to us before ordering.
Will my garment look exactly like the one in the photograph?
Not exactly. Handwoven fabric carries natural variation in colour tone and weave texture between pieces. Photographs are taken under controlled lighting and may appear differently across screen settings and devices. These are not defects. Read our Disclaimer before purchase.
How do I care for my handloom garment?
Please refer to the Care Guide on the individual product page for specific washing and care instructions.
Can I place a bulk or custom order?
Yes. For corporate gifting, bulk requirements, or custom sizing or fabric requests, please fill up this form or reach out to us directly and we will be happy to help.
